#Kalank ; get this right into yourself It is not for everyone. There is something you need to understand from this movie. The pain in the movie comes to light through the different characters who has different story to tell. Be it Roop, Dev, Satya, Zafar or Bahaar Begum.
Satya portrayed by Sonakshi Sinha like a fresh breeze and after Lootera I find her so beautiful and doing a wonderful justice to her role.
I have nothing much to say about Aditya Roy Kapoor as I have watched only one movie of his Aashiqui2. But he delivers a good performance overall .
Roop, the turmoil in her was evident when she is blackmailed into something which she doesn’t want to be part of it. Alia Bhatt delivers the turmoil in a decent manner. Her fight within herself comes to life when the situation gets worsen and ultimately she surrenders to it.
Zafar, the complexity he bears within himself is tough to understand. When you feel that he is again playing games you turn out to be wrong and vice versa. I liked Varun Dhawan’s performance but will keep it one rank below what he delivered in October.
Now, Bahaar Begum she has no reason to look forward but still she is moving forward in her life with a hope. Hope keeps you alive. She is the most devastated character. Madhuri Dixit delivers a wonderful performance in the space and minimum dialogues she got. And people who are thinking #TabaahHoGaye is just a dance number, you are wrong there is a story going on behind the song and Madhuri Dixit delivers another performance to remember as you have seen only 1/3 rd of the song in youtube. Her command over Urdu is splendid.
Zafar and Bahaar Begum are two sides of a coin. They fit in like two pieces of puzzle. The chemistry between Madhuri Dixit and Varun Dhawan is something I loved and left me craving to watch more of them.
Abdul, played by Kunal Khemu is brilliant, he gives a silent but strong message out there that he is capable of pulling off wonderful roles. I want to see him more often now.
Coming to Balraj, Sanjay Dutt pulls it off like ease with most minimum dialogues and screen presence but he leaves his mark behind. When you come out of the theatre you will definitely remember his character.
The chemistry between Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt lit up the silver screen and they proves how wonderful and powerful actors they are.
For me #Kalank is cinematical supreme, Songs #GharMorePardesiya #KalankTitleTrack and #TabaahHoGaye are relevant. Though I found #GharMorePardesiya bit dragging. But Shreya Ghoshal’s voice rescues you out.
The storyline sometimes become dragging in few scenes which can be kept short and crisp.
For me #Kalank is a beautiful movie with a deep thought which leaves you thinking what love is? As Roop says “You decide if it is Love or #Kalank ? “ For me it is definitely Love.
As a fan I can’t just be biased there are many points I didn’t like in the movie and found it unnecessary. If given a choice I will fast forward them. If the storyline was little more crisp and few sgots were kept short the story would have appeared more compact.
But the people who are giving reviews without watching it or starting it with “May be”, guys go & watch it first then decide.
#Kalank is definitely not speaking about lovey-dovey romance, it speaks of Timeless Love caged within duties, fear, anger & pride.
