I always change the channel when The View comes on...Joy and Whoopi are NOT open to listening to other points of view at all!!! And if anyone should express a different point of view that opposes theirs, they are just plain MEAN. But today, I didn't change it in time, and instead watched Meghan's announcement about her departure from the show. I watched as Joy just shook her head with a smirk on her face after her announcement. So rude. Then, after everyone else had spoken regarding Meghan's announcement, Joy actually spoke - I didn't think she was going to- and one thing she said sums up the entire reason I don't watch this show....she said that she appreciates that they each always "stick to their own opinions" .... Isn't the point of having a two-way discussion to listen? To keep an open mind, and be open to the opinions of others...to maybe gain another perspective? Perhaps learn something new? Learn why another person believes the way they do? Possibly look at an issue in an entirely different way than you have before? This show would be more interesting if everyone listened to and addressed one another with respect (even if they don't agree) instead of talking over each other. Every show turns into an arguing match....it's stressful to watch.
