I'm a little confused about the hype. It's possible to make a platformer difficult, but not frustrating. This game fails at this, firstly because there is a money system that means each time you die you're not only punished by having to replay an area, but you lose some of the gold (the main collectable in the game) that you have collected. Saving up for an upgrade? Well, there's no point playing a difficult level, as you'll be back down to zero gold if you want to develop any kind of mastery. Secondly, most deaths won't feel like your fault due to the sloppy mechanics. Chiptune music can be great; this music isn't. There's some good stuff here, and if you're a sucker for nostalgia for games for a different era, you'll probably find something here. Or you could just go and play those games on an emulator for free.
