Despite all this and stupid choices by characters; I will still watch season 2. Mostly because I am very curious about Dodge. And keep in mind that the "predictable twist" at the end, the character was the demon in the comics. I can't remember if it was revealed the same way as in the show, but the same character in the comics.
The acting was alright; I will say Dodge's actors were the best out of all of them. The one I didn't like the most was Bodie, perhaps because he was too much of a know-it-all, but he was smart so it was to be expected. Kensie's actress was fine, but the character was leaving you confused and wanting to smack her. Tyler's actor was great, and he made less stupid decisions than Kensie. The mom's actor... she was alright.
My problem is not the actors; it's the way the characters are.
Dodge is my favorite because he/she is actually a cool character who could delivers the story very well. Very likeable and mysterious and makes you want to know more about him/her.
SPOILERS!
The only one I am interested in is "Dodge"; from the start of the series I thought she/he was dead. But then we slowly see that she/he is actually a demon. Then we see how he/she is disguised/possessing Lucas. The demon is the only one in the show who keeps it moving; the children are idiots.
They literally send Elli back with the key to the crown. Like who does that?! Might as well just hand everything to the demon on a silver platter. I actually want to see him/she win, but judging from the ending of the comics, that's not the case.
The ending of the season is what makes people coming back for more. After finding out that Gabe is Dodge, and that the bully-girl is dead and her body is just possessed by a demon was really well done. And then fact that Dodge made Elli look like him/her and the children winded up throwing her in the door.
Though the kids really should've checked for the crown on Elli's body. Did they really not notice? Pfft... my younger cousin would be asking about "where's the sparkly crown on her head?" Granted, I get it, they probably wanted to get rid of "Dodge" but still. Gotta now your facts bud.
Overall, Dodge is the only smart character and realistic one. The only one I'm watching the show for aside from the ending. A fantastic ending really...
But the children are stupid. You can fast-forward through their parts for all I care. My 6 year old cousin is smarter than all of them. There was too much teen-drama for a horror show, even though it showed the potential of being an amazing horror/suspense netflix show.
Although, I really liked Elli and felt bad for her. It showed her traumatic experience kept her at the age of 18/17. She saw her friends get killed and what she thought was her boyfriend get beat to death. Then she had to toss him in the river. So when she thought she got Lucas back, she lost her mind.
PS: I want Dodge to win even though he/she is the main bad guy... oh well. Unless if dumb-dumber-n' stupid get smarter, then I will actually begin to like them as a people and start cheering them on. But right now, Dodge is trying the hardest and being the smartest out of everyone.
