Incredible social satire, more relevant than ever now in 2019. The gore is very realistic yet totally over the top. The fact that the village that Eli Roth cast thought that Cannibal Holocaust, apparently the first film they had ever seen, was a comedy is very telling. Once one is detached from the gore and is able to see it as allegory, Green Inferno is hilarious and pointed, sharp as a machete, chopping through neoliberal self righteousness and propaganda. Well done Mr. Roth and crew. 👏🏼 👏🏼
