A brave effort to translate Vikram Seth's book, into a series, is largely successful A lot of adult content, strictly for mature viewing The plots and sub plots are well handled and fascinate Tabu : iconic as usual Tanya M : this is her second role .... does quite well with her winsome eyes & cheesy smile .... the flirtatious undertones of her role, all within social bounderies, is nicely enacted Ishaan Khattar : well, he shines in his complicated role as the confused lotus eater, coming into his own Shahana Goswami : handles her vampish role with aplomb All in all, a well blended cast (albeit, all mostly with horribly overdone Indian english ... may b in keeping with the times) Worth watching

Good Newwz =========== A very serious issue of growing infertility in young couples .... bolly-esque style ..... the frivolous tone, numerous song and dance numbers, the lack of legal framework , diminishes an otherwise relevant theme Akshay who is capable of great acting, overacts ..... however, kareena with her penchant for overplaying the never-ending p.y(old).t. in most films, puts in some pretty good stuff here and is quite appropriate in her role Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in their role as the second couple are reduced to clowns Tisca Chopra and Adil Hussain, bravely bash-on ..... pivot roles, also reduced to farces The director makes some effort to stay with the infertility storyline, but fails more and stays less This could have been such a good film and isn't! See or miss 2.4/5

Knives out ========= An agatha christi-esque flavor, much irreverent eye-twinkling, baying hounds, crooked house, dark shadows, plump inheritance ; all neatly enveloped into a delightful murder mystery .... with a naughty cris plummer playing the corpse, jamie lee curtis as his first born, daniel craig as the detective with an accent and two hours of twisty-turny, redolent of number of a number of such screen heavy weights The film does meander a bit, abrupt at times, fast paced at others, as if the director cannot decide the pace .... 131 minutes is not really long, however the film drags a bit, as said, time and again The cast do seem to have a lot fun and that lends a smoothness and a dark humored flavor to the story All in all, a good film with dextrous storytelling, to watch with family, especially whodunit buffs (are any left??!!) 4/5 with a star

The Good Liar =========== A die-hard Mirren fan am I! And it was on that premise that I went to watch this film .... Mirren promised to be the sans pareil treat, as ever .... actually, a double treat with Ian McKellan in an amazing enactment of his role .... the honors were even! Quick reactions, smooth as cream action .... The end : spiced latté Definitely an oscar material! A must see .... an easy 4.5/5

Can you keep a secret ================== A quirky film with a quirky concept ... a somewhat limited storyline actually corrals the film and prevents it from wandering all over the place ... alexandra daddario is the unsure blurry character : an unlikely principal protagonist ...Tyler hoechlin is mostly arm candy : and quite a candy he is too ... Indian origin actor sunita mani has a sizable and once again, quirky contribution to the film All in all, an interesting off-grid plot and a blessedly short film I am going with a 2.5/5

Section 375 ========== Bold to the point of being radical .... storyline, edit, actors et al. Nary a song and dance! Akshay Khanna aces it as does tv actor Rahul Bhat and all the frame actors are superb! Richa Chaddha as the prosecutor, serms unsure and fumbling in face of the bouquet of powerful acting around her! Longish film, but well worth the time Heavy subject matter which opens up introspection as to the kind of society we live in .... prepare to battle with yourself, well as, which side you are with! Must watch! 3.8/5🌟🌟

Lion King .... a movie review ======================= This is a real-anime version of the 25 years yore film of the same name .... Does anyone care?? Not really!.... a clutch of celebrity movie critics apparantly do .... and consequently earn their keep by shredding it! Here is my take on it, in one line : As with most disney movies, Lion King is pure magic ....Recreated, re-woven❣ I watched it with my kid to a packed hall and wove the same dreams as Mufassa, Simba, Nala, Zazu et al❣ Not to be missed🥰 4.2/5⭐🌟
