I must admit it was engaging. But it all started to fall apart towards the end. Too many plot holes. The Croatian police were made to look like bumbling idiots with the way they were handling the case (ok I get there was a rogue cop but what about the other one?). Some unanswered questions as well. I think this movie would have worked better as a limited series - a little more time to etch the characters better and plug the loopholes.

If you are expecting this movie to be a gripping thriller, you’ll be disappointed. It’s a super slow, art film with great visuals

In the movie, Jonah Hill says ‘your story cannot come out as an article, it has the potential to be made into a book’. Ironically, I feel the story didn’t have the potential to be made into a movie. Maybe a short film or an episode in a tv series, but as a movie it lacks the intensity it was hoping to achieve and simply falls flat.
