I love exorcist themed movies, not all are good and worth watching though. This movie is watchable, but to me it was : a- super predictable, like from first scene you can guess the plot twist; b- felt like it was made out of every single cliche used in all exorcism movies, so I wasn’t guessing what will happen was pretty obvious at all times to me (so no thrill, no mystery) Guy Pierce gives an adequate performance, there’s adequate killing and possession scenes, but that’s not enough for this movie to be good. After watching it I wasn’t disappointed, because I didn’t expect a lot from it from the start, but there’s few things I am certain of: a) I will never watch it again (it’s flat, it’s not interesting,it’s boring, it’s not worth to me tp watched more than once); b) it made me rewatch and appreciate more Exorcist, Exorcist:the beginning (with greta plot but very bad CGI still a better movie than The Seventh Day); The Nun, Conjuring 1-2, Insidous ; Constantine; even oldies like End of Days with Arnie and Kim Basinger’s Bless the Child, the Exorcist series - these are all great movies, much better than this one. Of course if you are a youngster who never watched anything before 2015 this movie may seem great to you.
