I had low expectations for this movie, I thought perhaps this will be one of those stupid kids movie that makes pop culture reference after pop culture reference, but when I was about 10 mins in I found that I was already invested in the film. The actors were great in this movie and worked surprisingly well together, Sonic and Tom were written so well together, and even side characters like Toms wife were written quite well. Egg man was actually really well done, and i'm so glad that Jim Carrey didn't over act in this film. The story was a bit cliche but overall it was a fun movie to watch. You could tell that the writers really care for the Sonic franchise, and want this movie to do well, and in my opinion it did great.
