I loved it to be honest. I thoroughly loved it. I have watched The Shack at least twice now, drawn by how the movie dramatically portrays God's walking with us through everything, even when we are sure we are deserted. The idea that the God of an African girl (like me) is not necessarily some white, tall, old and bearded man but whoever I need at my point of need, really resonated with me. I also loved the sunshine and flowers mixed with underlying reverence. The message of forgiveness was also not lost on me; we may not mean it, but saying the words are the first step to healing ourselves, Best of all, I loved that it could have easily been a dream/ hallucination brought on by a concussion. It is indeed up to us if we choose to believe or not. And yes, I cried, and cried and cried throughout the whole thing. Very therapeutic really :) !!
