This is what they mean when they say "Based on a true story". Well, this film is based upon Charles Dickens' story and it bears only a loose resemblance to the original plot, though some key elements are retained to make it recognisable against the Dickens version. The plot is of a mean, selfish individual who is visited by 3 spirits: The Ghost of Christmas Past, The Ghost of Christmas Present & The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, and who becomes a different person as a result. Everything about this film is dark, moody, sombre and dismal. A lot of liberties have been taken with the storyline, but it is still A Christmas Carol. This is a wonderful film and was an absolute pleasure & delight to watch!
