If you read the books and want to see that story, don’t watch. It’s so different. The SoC story line was lost, which made me sad as it was so strong. Alina’s character was not portrayed well in the show. The Darkling was excellent. If you haven’t read the books, you might be confused by the terminology and world - the world building in the show isn’t awesome. If you are in either of the above camps and watch it anyway, the world building and character development are really weak. I read the books (and loved them), and I would have been confused if I hadn’t. I don’t feel anything for the characters even though I cried while reading the books. The acting is meh. The mashup between the trilogy and duopoly was poorly done. I have it three stars because it’s pretty. If it weren’t, I’d probably give it two.
