Low key sensitive and nuanced performances. Very moving - lives of ordinary people living in the most dismal of circumstances. And what they make of these. Lowry finding beauty - and love - in these, the people and the circumstances, the industrial landscape. Then the destructiveness of a claustrophobic relationship, the bitter sweetness of it so sensitively and poignantly portrayed.
