OK, it's cheesy, but it's also topical and lovely and challenging and self aware. I laughed, I cried and I'm glad I got to watch it.

Not often to I feel so strongly to write a film review. Out of curiosity I searched to see other people's opinions and was shocked to find such glowing statements. This film may well be based on a harrowing series of events and depict an important story, that said, it is absolutely abysmal. The way people are characterized made me think it was a skit on the worst possible lifetime movie. Unnecessarily graphic assault scenes and cringeworthy performances cushioned by shallow sweet moments. It does a disservice to the truth.
