Marakkar lion of arabian sea -is a fabulously wrapped empty giftbox underpining the statement ' content is the king '. akin to a theatrical drama with some quality vfx.Is this the marakkar priyadarshan carried in his mind since his 3rd standard and had done years of research & homework then i must sadly point out that all his efforts went in vain ( dunno the sources of his research but well aware that he researched from troy & brave heart 😄) While potraying a warrior with patriotic elements the character should emotionaly connect with audience & the craftsman spectacularly failed though none could ever accomplish it by a pathetic screenplay merged with substandard dialouges. In total the negatives outweighed the positives😑
Considering the negatives other than the major one that is screenplay
* - The editing was too fast (some fight sequences required slow cut)
*-The location of village which was actually in ramoji is no where similar to kerela landscape
*- a pool of miscast of quality thespians
* -background score which was supposed to elavate the scene to nxt lvl was felt disgusting( expected much above from rahul raj)
*excact replica of some goosebump scenes from troy & braveheart (something he is good @ but suprisingly not this time) appreciating his guts to do in this netflix era
Positives
* quality of sound effects & visuals were way ahead than many bollywood high budget films
* dubbing by vineeth for arjun was apt
* art director sabu again proved that he is currently the best in india
*The top section in the movie was its cinematography but sadly S. Thiru is extremely unlucky that his masterclass effort will get submerged by other technichal flaws.
* pranav did a decent job & proved his mettle wished that he had a long screentime
If you are striving for a visually stunning movie then a one time watch is recomendable. In a nutshell this is not the marakkar i personally expected /wanted from legendary duo of priyadarshan and mohanlal😊
