Good but not great movie, everything you’d come to expect from Scorsese, deNiro, pescsi, and Pacino. But it’s more of a continuation of everything they’ve ever done (Those hailing this as a masterpiece have somehow not seen a correlation). DeNiro playing an Irishman is on par with putting fake blue eyes on Jackie chan and saying he’s Swedish.....I think CGI in any movie takes away its authenticity and genuine nature. In this instance, it couldn’t hide the fact that the characters have all considerably aged.
It’s a Hollywood thing I guess, sacrificing emphasis on good writing/acting for CGI, even with the best actors in the game.
While I did like it, I’m not surprised by it’s box office numbers.
