I am a huge Queen fan but I was skeptical going into this wondering how they could possible portray Queen’s rise and the amazing but tortured life of Freddie Mercury. I needn’t have worried. The movie was done with honestly, grace and class, truthfully told to an extent. It allowed us a small glimpse into the rougher side of fame and into a lost soul while letting us “read between the lines” while still respecting the greatness that was Queen. I loved every moment and appreciated the care that went into telling the story with not too much but just enough. I shed a few tears; for the lost soul who finally accepted who he was, the strained relationship with his father, the greatness of the music, his incredible talent and for an end that came much much too soon.
