I would give this movie 3 stars if not the ending. Clearly audience are so fed up with Tollywood's toxic masculinity that the movie that questions the manhood has definitely received an applaud from majority. However , I wish an insight into fishermen's livelihood, culture, general beliefs would have added more authenticity to the movie. Glorifying romance and suffering is typical , but a girl who wouldn't think to step up and help her "soulmate" to raise money when on run, would fit into a labor intensive working class lifestyle ? I think the hardships of such relations are definitely downplayed and even glorified as usual. The director didn't convince of what gives a girl to leave everything behind for a man with whom she has to endure day to day struggles? It seemed like she ran away with him because of her own dysfunctional family issues. And please, stop showing women esp heroins as stupids who talk like toddlers , with all unnecessary cute smiles. But kudos to the cast and crew , and especially to Tej for accepting a role that is not typical. I totally appreciate director for challenging the roles of typical telugu heroes who still want to play lover boy roles with heroins of their daughter's age. I am so grateful for trying new waters and giving hope for future of Telugu Cinema.
Yes, no parent would agree to give away a girl to boy like him...it is not even about caste !! This as usual is glorification of real life problems !
Bible thumping seems intentional , esp, conservative doesn't mean evil (Vijay Sethupathi).
