Just watched Mission Mangal. If I have to describe it in one word, then it will be: "Propaganda".
There is not only a clear open attempt to show Islam as cool and Islamic practices like Namaz as 'in-thing', they have openly tried to mock Practicing Hindus and Hindu practices and have attempted to show our beliefs and practices as superstition, and outdated. The issue was not only with the mocking of astrology and the stereotype of those who consult horoscopes as superstitious; they mock puja, they mock our worship of divinity before undertakinv important activities, they mock our practice of going to Tirtha kshetras and they mock murti puja.
As a practicing Hindu, I am deeply offended and insulted by the movie. And it's open pro-Islamic propaganda is horrifying.
And to add to it, if you went in expecting to watch a movie on India's science achievement, you will be fully disappointed. They did not seem to have time fit in science, since they were so busy showing how a Muslim scientist (Don't think the real ISRO team women on whom movie is based even had a Muslim scientist) was not getting apartments due to her religion, or how a teenage Hindu boy reading Koran and doing Namaz is cool and the objecting father is the narrow conservative freak, or how an aged scientist wanting to go to Tirupati is funny, or how doing puja just before launch is irritable and distracting thing (Akshay Kumar becomes irritated at this twice in the movie).
No self-respecting Hindu will come out of the movie unoffended.
