I think this show is very degrading. Unfortunately I believe that it has a hint of truth to it, as the world tends to revolve around power hungry men. This show glorifies how men take advantage of women and it’s disgusting. When I first saw this show on Netflix I was excited to see a strong black female lead and had high hopes for the storyline. I was extremely let down when I realized that this is not about the empowering life of Olivia Pope, it is instead showing a minority woman chasing a powerful white man. In my opinion, this show is out of its time. The new generation is WAYYY more interested in positive change to society’s norms. This show simply does not demonstrate it. (I also hate the amount of times “MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THE WORLD” was stated throughout this series) Addition: After reading some of these reviews, it has come to my attention that the series does take a more feminist turn in the last 2 seasons..... my opinion about the show still does not change as you have to watch at least four seasons to even see this change. 😅😬
