If you read and liked the book, you won't like this movie. It takes itself much too seriously in what should be a lighthearted romp, leaving out much of the humor of the book. Redford's acting is a bit wooden, but Nolte is great. It also makes glaring mistakes about the AT and the journey. On the plus side, the scenery of the AT and the soundtrack are awesome!
If you have not read the book, you will enjoy this movie much more!
