As a fan of D&D video games and tabletop, I thought the movie was great! It definitely had plenty of references and jokes that were appropriate for players familiar with the mechanics. However, it was also relatively approachable for people just looking for a fun swashbuckling type adventure. It did feel a bit low budget, but not necessarily in the bad way. One thing I didn't expect to like so much was the cinematography - there's very little shaky action camera in D&D Honor Among Thieves! The fight scenes were easy to follow, enjoyable, and the plot was good enough to keep me invested. Not all the jokes landed, but Chris Pine did a great job as the lead alongside the other cast members. Highly recommended! Doubly so if you enjoy tabletop D&D.

Held back by a poor story and script, Jurassic World: Dominion continues to destroy the franchise that was once held in high regards. This movie continues the lackluster story from the second JW film, albeit it is much better than Fallen Kingdom in my opinion. The first half of the film is entirely too slow and goes by at a snail's pace filled with events that are irrelevant to the story. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are the leads, yet they are ineffective in their roles. Held back by both subpar acting, a subpar script, and indestructible plot armor, you'll be rolling your eyes at how they constantly seem to evade any sort of danger. And I'm not even going to mention Pratt waving his arms at dinos like he can psychically commune with them! The second half of the film is where we meet the returning actors from JP1. Sam Neil, Lara Dern, and Jeff Goldblum do an amazing job with what they're given. Granted, nostalgia is very strong here, it was pleasant to see the gang back together and trying to survive. Definitely not a good film, and maybe just a half-step above bad. There are some things to like, but they are strewn between animal fodder. 2/5

I haven't consumed a lot of James Bond films or media besides Goldeneye on the N64. I watched this in theaters when it released but I was 15 years old so I didn't understand parts of it and didn't remember others. After watching it in 2021 with a fresh perspective, all I can say is WOW. This movie is non-stop action, drama, and suspense. It's revolves around a new Bond who just recently got his "license to kill". He goes undercover in a high stakes poker game to bankrupt a terrorist. It's full of twists and turns, and downright stupendous acting. It is a little long, but I don't fault that because it is a 100% complete story with a well-developed beginning, middle, and end. The action sequences are heart-pounding as well, especially the crane/parkour scene near the beginning of the movie. All in all, I would recommend this to any person who enjoys well-written action or spy movies.

Will Smith carries this movie, but he can't hold the entire film up. In my opinion, this movie starts off brilliantly in a tense, unsettling depiction of a silent NYC. As the movie approaches the half-way mark, we see the acting and script falter until the end where it seems downright rushed. I originally watched this in theaters, and was surprised to see that Netflix plays the alternative ending. I don't really member much of the theatrical ending, but the version on Netflix today seems to have rushed the last 20 minutes of the movie trying to wrap up as many plot threads as possible. 3/5

Starts off interesting but story takes a nosedive about 2/3 of the way through with the introduction of other characters. The acting is so bad I just can't recommend it. It became a chore to watch and the characters had such annoying, non-sensical behavior. Don't recommend this one at all.

Very creepy movie! It follows a family who start experiencing a series of rather scary and unexplainable events. I don't want to give too much away, but for the most part, it's a very intense and spooky movie about alien abductions and the "greys".

This is a pretty interesting low-budget sci-fi movie. It is an ambitious story about a group of teens that get stuck in a cave where time behaves in a peculiar way. I don't want to give too much away because I really enjoyed the overall premise. I think the acting could have been better, and the ending seems a little rushed. There's a large air of mystery throughout the entire movie as the teenagers try to figure out what exactly is happening and how to escape. By the end of it, I wasn't really invested in the characters, but I was intrigued as to how things were going to end. I sure as heck love a good time-bending adventure. If you enjoy science fiction or time travel movies and you're looking for an original movie, this 90 minute spelunking adventure is a good time.

Action scenes were good and I really liked how certain scenes mimicked Captain America. However, the voice acting was just not convincing and some of the writing was mediocre. The story was interesting enough, but it felt almost too-fast paced and couples with the voice acting and script, I felt bored by the end of the episode.

No spoilers here! I really enjoyed the first half of the movie. It was tense, mysterious, and unsettling in all the right ways. It's about a man who is convinced his daughter is still alive even though she has been missing for 5 years and how he copes with it. There's also the sheriff who is investigating a string of murders. This is all great as they meet, and try to find the murderer. The problem arrives about halfway through when the movie starts throwing macguffins around and the characters start behaving contrary to their interests. The ending was lame, and I feel like it really came out of left field because there's no lead up... It seemed so thrown together and rushed. Overall, the second half really kills it for me so I can't recommend it. If you're into small town crime mysteries, you might enjoy it more than I did.
