There are flaws in the current gameplay regarding content. There's a general rotation of furniture in Nook Cranny. Nothing special and it only comes in one color. If you want to find another color, good luck, you better have friends. Secondly, villagers usually have the same dialogue. Different personality types are key, however, its more than likely that you'll end up with 2-3 of the same personality type (which honestly wouldn't happen if they made a certain personality types cuter, I mean, there are way too many cute 'normal' villagers). But also with villagers, they're just there to be there. They don't invite you over at specific times anymore, that's what New Leaf was all about! Having interactions with villagers which was meaningful! You can't even talk to villagers more than 2 times a day before they're like "we've been seeing eachother a lot today". Third, there is LITERALLY nothing to do. If you have an idea for your island and you just want to terraform, cool. But what's going to happen after that? Do you delete your data to restart the journey and create something new? And characters like Flick, they don't even show up as often as you wish they would.
The game is beautiful and it has potential and allows you to express creativity. But the main thing is that it lacks content. It's like Happy Home Designers if it were a whole island rather than a house or building.
