Gabbeh is a surrealistic and beautiful movie about the search for love, or better said, the waiting for love. The story is about Gabbeh, a young woman who is part of a nomadic family in an Iranian closed society, and who is waiting for the perfect man, the elation of love, and the perfect time to get married. But the waiting is too long. Gabbeh’s idyllic feelings and hopes are key component that elevate the script. But the cinematography and vivid colors enhance all the emotions! With perfectly surrealistic frames, Gabbeh’s emotions surpassed the flat screen! Descriptive and full of nuances, this movie represented love as a colorful adventure with highs and lows. And to add to the rich visual components, the ambient sounds make 'real' this surrealistic narration. This movie is a love letter to the beauty of some Iranian areas.
