Puzzled why this brilliant and hilarious show has been getting negative reviews. I think it's because all of the best jokes require a knowledge of history, and international politics. While at the same time having a uniquely American style of humor. That limits your audience significantly. As an expat who's lived in 5 countries and keeps up to date on worldly affairs I absolutely love it. It stereotypes countries in a way that might just fly over people's heads. I find myself constantly surprised by how much they hit the nail on the head, because usually Americans have a very skewed perception of the world. I think the writers "get it" but the audience doesn't.
It's better than The Office, but The Office was more relatable because almost everyone has worked in an office.
