The premise of this movie should be interesting, living in a post-Breach world with Jaegers still in service. Unfortunately, we see this movie where slapdash junkyard Jaegers are being produced (Let the rough-and-tumble build-it-from-junk tomboy character trope die already, Hollywood), and the whole world is now full of Jaegers that were a dying breed in the last movie and that are now everywhere...when the threat they were built for is already gone. Character motivations are basically nonexistent and hold no sway, and there are way too many little factors going into the main plot of this movie. It's like they were trying to cram the plots from two or three different scripts into this one movie, and it turns into little more than an amalgamation of cinematic junk. Not seeing Raleigh Beckett, and killing off a main character from the first movie while also completely changing another with out-of-nowhere storytelling, this movie does little better than the first movie. Underwhelming, awkward, and a bore
