If you are wanting another GOT your not going to get it here. GOT is 100 times “edgier” if you will, and was a perfect storm when brought to life on a premium network like HBO #nofilter. This is not that kind of story even within the same genre. What it is , is an epic fantasy story. The books are rich with insightful dialogue and even richer characters and backgrounds. The books carry a lot of time describing the world the characters live in to great detail. Within the show it’s up to the cinematic director to give us that part. It is IMO as close as you can possibly get. Honestly there are very few if any books that have translated to screen and retained EXACTLY what the author intended. If you are a fan of this series as I have been for over 20 years enjoy it for what it is. I believe they are doing the story justice.
