Good story well told with strong casting and convincing acting. The record of “the dig”, in itself an interesting tale of an actual significant archeological discovery in England, at a critical historical time just at the beginning of WW II, introduces a number of characters whose roles and interactions create compelling side stories that are handled in in professional ‘Masterpiece Theatre’ style with great production values, beautiful locations and photography, and fine acting. Slow, touching, beautiful and involving. Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes are superb, as is the rest of the cast.
