I served during this time period and I was overseas. I already knew about Pat Tillman but now I know the whole story. Total respect for Pat; most of us would never quite get it to serve when you're also a professional football player. And even having an opportunity to get out honorably and be able to go back to his wife, family and football but he chose to fulfill his original obligation before leaving the Army. I believe that he really enjoyed being a soldier, team leader, and serving the people of the United Stares of America. The thing is too many soldiers are at times just big kids; big kids with real weapons - this is really very tragic.
