This is one of the BEST modern horror games I’ve played in a VERY long time. The story, graphics, gore, everything is top notch and Bloober/Konami spared no expense! Don’t listen to the negative 1 star reviews that talk about it being “woke” and “censored garbage” just because James doesn’t touch Maria’s chest. Honestly the game is fantastic and it looks and plays great. Give it a shot and again, the 1 star reviews are probably Xbox fans who have never even played the game! Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Just started playing Beyond the Dawn and I’m quite disappointed to say the least. I love the story so that’s not the issue. I’ve listed the issues below: 1. Having to redo every skill tree for every party member. It seems like such a cop out way of giving us a “new game” that isn’t actually adding anything except more of the same. What was the point of grinding my butt off in the first game to then have to do everything all over again in the DLC? That was such a poor decision in my opinion and makes me feel like all my hard work was for nothing. Considering this takes place after the first game, why would our characters be WEAKER the second time around? Makes zero sense. 3. All of the weapons I spent AGES collecting materials for and crafting are gone and now I have to do it all over again to get the exact same weapons. This makes absolutely no sense. Why not just start me with my weapons from the main game and add new weapons. Surely that wouldn’t have taken that much more additional effort. This current approach is just pure laziness from the devs. 4. Locking familiar mechanics like fast travel, cooking, etc. as if we’ve never played the first game is mind boggling to me. I would ASSUME whoever is playing the DLC, obviously played the first game so treating us like we’re newbies is just insulting. I don’t need tutorials on mechanics when I’ve already played the first game with the same mechanics for over 143 hours. 5. I spent so much time completing the fishing challenges and had collected the very best rod and every single lure and fish only to be told in the DLC “do it all over again”. Again, this is just poor UX development at its best and just pure laziness at its worst. I’ll still play it but to be honest with you, they aren’t off to a great start and so far, I am genuinely disappointed they didn’t add any new gameplay mechanics and just rehashed the old one. There was no need to make this a separate game as they could have easily just continued on from the first one and let us keep everything we’ve worked for. In hindsight, I probably should have done some more research before spending $30 on “more of the same”. Even with the story, this DLC should have sat at $15 and that’s being GENEROUS.

Ahh Ubisoft, where to begin. Yet again Ubisoft has given us a massive beautiful open world with a horribly boring storyline and surface level characters. The absence of human companions in favor of animal ones was a huge let down. There also aren’t as many cut scenes as they’ve replaced it with a copy paste screen going over the mission while the character just speaks to you. It is literally copy and paste and I find it to be a huge cop out. They’ve stuck with the “go here, kill this guy” fetch quest style of quests only this time you have no skill line so progression feels meaningless. There is no immersion what so ever. Far Cry 5 although not perfect, was FAR better. It feels like a game that is half done. If you want a basic first person shooter and you don’t care about storyline or immersion then you’ll love this game. If you’re looking for something more then this game isn’t for you. Luckily, I was able to borrow this from a friend and I’m glad I didn’t spend my money on this. It’s a decent game but it’s not worth $60. Save your money and wait for it to go on sale. You’ll thank me later.

STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town

“Pro reviewers” are overly harsh on this game. If you know story of seasons, you know that the characters have always been surface level. This game is a MASSIVE improvement from friends of mineral town. They have improved the mining system so that it’s actually enjoyable and you don’t run out of stamina as quickly. I always had to reload once I found the stairs and I don’t have to do that in this one. There are also enjoyable mini games and festivals. Most of all, the addition of crafting and machines is a welcome change. The animals are also very cute and I enjoy doing my farm up! I also enjoy the vast amount of land and structures you are able to have this time around! Don’t let the bad reviews fool you. This is a very good game and it’s very enjoyable. Yes the museum sucks but I don’t buy these games for the museum or for the town. I play for the farm experience! The addition of sprinklers and auto feeders is great. There are also a bunch of new stores that you can shop at. I’ve spent over 100 hours so far and I’m not bored in the slightest. You keep unlocking new things to either craft or buy that Keeps me interested. Solid farming game however don’t expect too much from the characters. This isn’t rune factory 4. If you want a solid farming simulator to keep you occupied for hours on end and something you can pick up and start playing at any time then I highly recommend pioneers of olive town!

Tell me why struggles to get me to care about the characters and their development. They lack personality and ultimately you don’t care about their journey or why they are doing what they are doing to begin with. The towns characters are boring and the storyline just carries itself along. Life is strange 1 is a much better game for many reasons but one being Arcadia Bay and Max as a character. Tyler is an ok character but it’s like they gave him no personality other than he’s a transgender man and he liked goblins as a kid. It’s just not engaging enough and I hope they have upped there game for life is strange 3.

This game is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful and the story will have you emotional. Do not buy into the negative reviews. I almost didn’t buy the game and now I’m glad I did. Whoever gives this game 1 star, either hasn’t actually played the game, or they had a different story played out in their minds for this game but I am more than halfway done with the game and all I can say is that the story makes sense regardless of how much you love these characters. We tend to forget that Ellie and Joel live in a dog eat dog world where survival comes first. These two characters, especially Joel, are NOT innocent and if you’ve played the first game, you know that Joel has made a LOT of bad decisions in his lifetime and has hurt A Lot of people. That is all I will say about that as I don’t want to spoil anything for you before you play it. The amount of detail that went into this game is incredible. No bad guy dies the same way and the characters have so much life and emotion to them. You can’t help but fall in love with every part of them game. It plays very smoothly and is longer than the first one but for good reason. If you are into a zombie survival game with an unbeatable story, definitely buy the Last of Us 2. This game is an absolute must play. Kudos to Naughty Dog, the developers and Neil Druckmann! You lads did a FANTASTIC job. Regardless of where the story ends, for me, this game is still a 10/10. It’s just that good. Back to finishing the story now! Buy this game, you won’t regret it!
