Note: This review is specifically for the Xbox One version.
Edit: Review changed from 1 to 3 stars, because the developer contacted us within hours with a work around. I really appreciate developers who work hard to repair issues. That being said, the game still has some pretty major issues in general (see the original review below). Regardless of the flaws, this game also has a lot to like. I hope they continue to improve, and I would love to see them make more games like this.

I was super excited about this game, and bought it as a gift for my husband. I loved the aesthetic and music immediately. I was even eager to forgive the absurd load times and clunky controls, because I was so excited about the story.
Unfortunately, aside from a multitude of bugs and glitches, the game only allows you to save once and that save corrupts very easily. We somehow managed to make it to the second to last chapter when the game glitched into black and white and locked us in a room behind an invisible wall we couldn't get out of. After hours of reading, loading and reloading the game, watching walkthrough videos, and exploring all the possible options we could we eventually had to give up on finishing the game.
Again, I really wanted to like this, and I'm only reviewing this to try to keep someone else for spending $50 dollars on something that is so buggy is is actually unplayable.
I hear it's less buggy on PC, but the Xbox One version will not be a good investment of your money or time.
