On Netflix. I watched “ “ Is love enough Sir”.
I had no clue of what I am opening to as I had been under weather over two days.It was act of desperation a gasp.
It took me into methods of parallel cinema. Story is simple but craft is remarkable. A relief from popular kitch. Images converse with or without music. Dialogues are on budget. Acting specially of Tilotma shome as Ratna is a devotion to proficiency to her trade and total submission to character. Vivek Gomber as Ashwin is a rear restrained actor, though qualified at Boston for masters. Director is daughter-in-law of Ramesh syppi but qualified from Stanford. She is gutsy to pitch her baby to cliched Indian market. She makes her case without overstating.
It is a saga of servitude in search for skills in swamps of society. Protogonist seems adept. New sensibilities are on display. I watched it with remote control at hand to pause and repeat the scenes often. It is one of those Michelin star treat. All said and done it is a human story in soup of society they are born into but slurping it was a joy.
By the way I felt sunnier.
