This game was disappointing. It had the potential to be a great game but the execution was terrible. If the franchise was split into a trilogy this would've been an incredible game. They could've introduced Ellie and Joel (RIP) in the first game and set the precedent for what's to come. Then the second game would be an introduction of Abby and her friends. In this game they show how they cross paths with Joel and Ellie and what actions would eventually lead to the next game; Abby figuring out her father was killed by Joel. Then the third game could be set in revenge for both. Abby gets her revenge and we would understand because they could've made us sympathize with her if she was introduced before she killed Joel. But no they just introduce her in this game and kill off our favorite character just to force us to play as the person who we know nothing about except that they killed Joel. They didn't give us the opportunity to like her, they just threw Abby in our face and spat on us. The plot was inconsistent and badly written.
