the reason im giving the stars is for comedy and camerawork, bc the movie itself is.... disappointing. i was hoping for the shyamalan from "the village", "signs", or "the sixth sense", and seeing some thoughtful commentary on religion and morality. while there were themes of such in the twist ending, it wasnt really all that well set up, as in signs with the religious figures and parallels. the movie itself was also disgustingly racist-tropey ith the kill-off sequence... smh.... i expected better than this from shyamalan but whatever. some parts that seemed to be intended to be deep and meaningful came of pervy and uncomfortable. however, it doesnt come out of nowhere, so you get a warning. long story short, i miss old shayamalan :(
