Terribly disappointed by the movie, direction, and acting. The original trilogy had something special in its tone and direction, how the actors played off one another and the wonder of discovering what the Matrix was, Zion and Machine City.
Resurrections, however, does not do any of its predecessors any justice, nor does it give ample space for character development, or any room for the characters to truly bloom. Many scenes felt rushed, as if you're reading a book and skipping chapters just to get to the good parts - of which there was very little.
The play between characters and the robots did not have the same effect or power that was in the original, even while trying to make the machines "friendlier".
Nairobi felt like she was shoved in for the sake of having some extras from the past movies, the new Agent Smith and Morpheus lacked in depth and character (you can't just copy and paste talent people!), and the climax of the film... there was none. Again, rushed.
In actual fact, I believe the story could rather have been split in 2 parts to create a better story telling experience. Or - they could have just left it at 3 - it ended beautifully right there.
