One things for sure, Chinese can't act! Despite the harrowing subject matter,it was mostly acted like that rubbish series of years ago' 'Monkey'! People getting blown to bits, yet most of the actors would have you believe it was a flippant cartoon! The film itself though is very good, showing the horror that is associated with blanket bombing and why it should never happen again.

As the first series went on, in grew on me and far from what one (Nostradamus?) reviewer claimed, I was surprised at a number of the twists in the plot. Whilst a little 'Game of Thrones' esq in terms of the spread and personality of the many of the main characters, nevertheless, given the historical constraints with regard to geographical location i.e largely being confided, by necessity, to 13th century France, I found the series riveting watching and enjoyed it very much. I'm eager indeed, to see if the second series lives up to the high standards of the first. All-in-all, an excellent watch and congratulations to all concerned.
