I stuck with it, I've watched every episode. I get that is telling the story of tradegy, dedication and commitment, but...... dear lord it is dull! Others have said it was like watching paint dry, yep, perfect analogy. A real shame, great cast, good acting, big budget, but a tiresome script. What pity

Very poor. Why do film makers feel the need to embellish a perfectly good book? There was a lot of hype before this aired that it was the first adaptation actually set in the period. Trouble is, which book? This isn't the war of the worlds by HG Wells. Confusing, difficult to follow and only very very loosely based on the original novel. Disappointing.
