Could ABC and other presenters make a better effort with getting Chinese names right. Currently, Gladys Liu is in the spotlight. Her family name, Liu, isn't pronounced as Loo. It sounds as Li-oo. Lu, another but less common name is pronounced as Loo! There must be lots of Mandarin speakers working for our national broadcaster who could run a workshop on pronunciation for personal, family and place names that are frequently butchered!
