Not enough monsters. Too much drama. Dialogue is forced and unoriginal. I didn't subscribe to Apple to watch a teenagery soap opera. Yeah I know you have to develop characters. But the protagonist is the monster(s). And by the time you get to the fourth episode, you get the picture that the monsters take a back seat and it's all tired, old drama, drama, drama. I actually fell asleep in the fourth episode. Too bad the writers made it more about the drama and less about the monsters. They are really cool. But it's literally unwatchable. By the way, ANY review that gives this show 5 ⭐️'s is a bot. Don't listen to them...lol

This film offers a unique dichotomy between an overweight plot and an underdeveloped character. Typically, the character follows the direction of the plot. The plot forces the development of the character. As the ending credits were rolling, I found myself realizing that something unique had happened along the way. Something that I've never seen in a movie. At the movie progressed, here's what happened: the plot became the character and the character became the plot. The movie became less about Hitler and Bigfoot and more about Calvin. I was pleasantly surprised with it.
