We are thoroughly enjoying this series. I really appreciated learning about my own country's involvement during this time, in particular that Nova Scotia and Southern Ontario were the final stops for a lot of African Americans who made their way north. I went to school in Alberta and Nova Scotia and there was NOTHING mentioned about this part of our history at all. While I can't say we were complexly enthralled throughout, the quality of the acting, the writing, and the production were absolutely top notch. The transgender subtext, while a very small part of this, was beautifully executed.
