I really wanted to love this show but it’s terrible. The writing is garbage - if I had been tasked with reviewing it I would have given it a pass rather than recommend to the production company. As a show progresses, we should understand the motivations of the main protagonists and care about them. I’ve found over the course of watching this show that I hate the leading female protagonist more and more which is the opposite of what should be happening. There is no personal development for any of the characters - they are one-dimensional and boring. I could say a lot more but this show doesn’t deserve anymore of my time.

This masterpiece was written by a 17 year old male for other 17 year old males obsessed with sex, talking about sex, thinking about sex, joking about sex, using every linguistic variation possible to refer to genitalia, and an overall love of the F word inserted liberally throughout. For those who enjoy history, no recommendation can be given to watch this show because as it says, it’s only sometimes, and very loosely, or mostly not at all, based on historical fact and therefore just a ridiculous young adult show. So unless you are a teenager, or enjoy Hulu generated pornography (with as marvelous a storyline as 70s porn), for your own sake, do not watch this boring, tedious, immature drivel.

Zero chemistry between the two leads. The female lead is abrasive, disrespectful, and unattractive- not because she is physically ugly, per se - but because her behavior and attitude toward the male lead is so condescending, belittling, and downright awful. The male lead - The King - must have very poor self-esteem and no sense of self-worth to be utterly obsessed with a woman who treats him abusively and is clearly uninterested. As a viewer, I am not interested in watching a man (or anyone for that matter) be denigrated by a supposed love interest in this way. And I do not believe that someone in his position would truly be interested in someone as crass and unappealing in every way as she is.

Anyone who likens this garbage movie to Agatha Christie should be ashamed. She was the queen of mystery and twist endings. There was absolutely no twist to this movie because the real killer was obvious within the first 15 minutes. Watching a sniveling young woman for almost two hours, knowing fully that the real killer is the grandson all the way through, is obnoxious at best. Obviously the girl wasn’t really responsible for the old man’s death and watching her suffer emotionally throughout the entire movie believing that she was responsible was draining and awful. Not funny at all and a terrible excuse for a “murder mystery.”
