Unfortunately this new adaptation is inferior to Nicolas Roeg's masterpiece original in every way. None of the soul, none of the heart, none of the scares. Which is a shame given Del Toro's attachment to the project. Skip this and show your kids the original.

With a final moment that will linger with you long after the credits roll, and an extraordinary performance by Barbara Hershey, The Entity is a terrifying tale of sexual violence and male-perpetrated control. This is a lost gem of a film that deserves reanalysis in the wake of the #MeToo movement.
