I will have to give it straight, I do not recommend watching this movie. Here are a couple of problems I had with the movie (spoiler warning): The movie is super cliche. Now, it can be a good thing if that’s what you’re looking for in a romance; personally, it just gets really dull after seeing it time and time again. The only twist here is that the guy is disabled. Patrick: he was the most relatable/“human” character in the film and honestly deserved better. He genuinely cared about Lou and did what he could to please her, although he was a bit selfish, only to end up being ditched for a guy who has no redeeming qualities except for being handsome and rich. He felt insecure about her spending a lot of time with Will which led him to say questionable things and act in questionable ways. And Lou, being the quirky girl she is, decides NOT to ask her boyfriend what was going on or why he was acting this way, no form of support at all (also acting flirty during the wedding while still dating someone is completely not OK). This is in no way a healthy relationship. Honestly it would have been better had she had just straight up told him that she wanted to cheat on him with Will. The message it sends can also have a negative impact on the viewer. Will has almost everything a person can want in life: supportive parents, money, a castle, a girl who loves him unconditionally. Yet, he still decides he wants to off himself. The message it sends is that it might be better to die if you’re disabled because you’re not the person you once used to be. I give this a 3/10 and that’s me being generous.
