Midsommar was heart-wrenching, gruesome and at times bloody and gross! It seemed to reach deep within my soul and make me think of death and humanity differently. The images and cinematography was excellent! The acting was awesome and the plot tantalizing and interesting. I was both excited and disturbed at the same time. This is a movie like no other!
I was also highly impressed with Dani, (Florence Pugh). Her potrayal of a grieving girlfriend was quite convincing. Pugh's ability to shift moods allowed us to see her vulnerability amidst tragedy and grief.
I was so utterly confused by the ending but I found myself feeling bad for Josh, Mark, Christian, Connie and Dani. A part of me wanted them to escape, but that would have drastically changed the plot and meaning of this disturbing and great film.
