This was SUCH a good movie. It's up there with Don't Look Up for me, minus the satirical humor. It's dark and gritty and just so REAL. Even the fear it ignites - gunfire for example was filmed to sound REAL, not smoothed over as most movies do, and it really strikes a primal fear. And the cinemetography is beautiful in the way it is absolutely devastating. I like the absence of true party lines, or even knowing what side is truly "good" or "bad". It's the biggest warning against war I have seen in a long time, well done IMO through the eyes of unbiased photography just capturing history as it happens. Because ultimately, side doesn't matter. War to "fix" the country isn't grand and heroic. It's ugly, and it's stain leaves scars for decades. It's something we should all strive to work together to avoid. I'm saddened to see so many negative reviews, but just like Don't Look Up I feel as if many people went into it expecting different, many people just didn't get it, and I think there is a lot of subconscious defensiveness from people seeing the darkness within themselves.
