Had potential, but ironically, in the end the kids were very much still spoiled brats. The father made mistakes and he acknowledged them. But the kids acting like spoiled brats by cutting him off bc of his assessment of them (which was accurate), and him attempting to change them into functioning adults (albeit with pretty extreme measures). They never even addressed the fact that they were all lazy and entitled bums and even pretended that they never were.

This movie is only the 2nd time in my life I've not finished watching a full movie. The voice overs and mixing is terrible. Even when Jackie is speaking it sounds like a voice over. The beginning with Jackie and Arnold was decent, but then it quickly spirals to the depths of hell. Bad acting, bad writing, bad plot, just bad everything. It's hard for me to believe this final product was watched, screened, and anyone said "yup, this will be good."

I honestly believe that the majority of the people not giving this movie at least 5 stars are probably not parents. Even if you're not a single father, this movie has so many relatable moments. Mainly, the doubt. Idk any decent father that is not overly hard on themselves and constantly wonders if they're adequate enough and doing enough. Wondering if they're meeting the standard of what they and/or society deems a man and a father should be. Some call this movie flat, but I believe the highs are in the relatable, but unspoken, emotions and thoughts that parents (and especially fathers) often experience.
