'Kakkakuyil' (2001) is one of the best and most comical films of both Priyadarshan's and Mohanlal's careers. The storyline was great, along with the natural acting of seasoned senior actors such as Mukesh, Nedumudi, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Innocent, Jagathy, Cochin Haneefa, and Sukumari. To add a Bollywood touch to the film, the location where it was filmed is Mumbai and we have Suniel Shetty in a cameo appearance, playing the role of the real 'Kunjunni', who was being impersonated by Sivaraman's voice (Mohanlal) and Govindan Kutty's body (Mukesh) in front of the blind elderly couple. But the best performances were delivered by Nedumudi Venu and Kaviyoor Ponnamma through their roles as the blind but doting grandparents of Kunjunni. The songs were blockbusters. Even after almost 20 years of its release, Kakkakuyil continues to be a movie that everyone would never miss to watch and relish the comedy in it.
