I normally do not like “faith based” shows due to shallow characters, poor storytelling, and often weak direction. So many “faith based” films and shows are just terrible. This is a massive massive exception to that rule. This is a strong character driven story that is engaging all on its own, and something people of no faith can enjoy as much as people of faith. Casting and acting quality is exceptional. Writing is top notch with all the little bits coming together. Plain and simple this is GOOD storytelling. It gets stronger as it goes along with the first few episodes carefully crafted to set up later character actions. This is just brilliant. There are historical anachronisms a plenty if you are picky but the story and characters are so good they can be forgiven. The consensus in my house is Matthew is our favorite character. All the casting and actor chemistry is amazing. I heartily recommend this
