After the pot boiler that was Wild Silence Winn has returned to the simple formula that made Salt Path a winner - simple reportage. Once again her heart wrote the story, not the urgings of an impatient publisher.
If you thought you wouldn't read this because of disappointment with Wild Silence - think again. In the end I wept.

I haven't read the book, but after the first six episodes I was anticipating a sting in the tail. Ep7 was virtually unnecessary, Tyler's revenge was predictable and utterly unexciting, and Jeevan's happy ending was lovely but lame. Kirstin's tale disappeared into thin air. And Miranda was a distant memory. But it looked lovely, it's such a pity that the narrative arc evaporated towards the end.
