Thrilling series so far. I am finishing book 3 and rushing to order book 4. I am hungry for each page. Book one is a kind of combo of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Gattaca, and the Hunger Games. That is Hunger Games if the ruling class intentionally put their kids into the game. In each book relish the moments of bloody triumph as much as the moments of utter defeat. To see the main character crawl so forcefully back from the depth of despair and crippling defeat are very empowering. The inner dialogue of the main character is very reminiscent of the Robert Heinlein books I consumed in my youth. I think I might read all of the books out in a months time I am so hungry for them.

Reminiscent of another good film The Circle in that it compels you to think about the competitive nature of our society and it's destructive potentials. In both films individuals are pitted against each other in a sort social experiment where the rules are vague and mostly made up by the people stuck in the circumstance. The price of winning or losing in both is life and death. The big difference is The circle is in real time and everyone MUST face and kill each other. While The Platform is a slower more torturous burn of months and you do not see most of the people you are in competition with.
